LA SCRUCCHJIATE DI UVA
La Scrucchijata is the product that epitomises the Abruzzo tradition: it is a jam made from Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes, which takes its name from the action of ‘scrocchiatura’ – the process of crushing the grapes, which, as soon as they were removed from the stalks, had to be squeezed between two fingers and then turned into jam.
